Happy Easter everyone.
Maybe it's too late to share this this year around. Maybe not.
As always, I trust the call and share.
Here is the receipe for an all natural yummy Hot Cross Bun receipe:
Buns:
70g Coconutoil
60g Coconut Sugar
250g lukewarm nutmilk of your choice
1TBsp Baker's Yeast
500g white spelt flour (I used wholemeal spelt flour 馃憤)
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp all spice, cinnamon
1 pinch of salt
150g Sultanas
Piping (the cross):
80g flour
100g water
1 TBsp maple syrup
For brushing: 1/2 cup maple syrup.
Mix ingredients for dough together. Knit until a dough forms.
Let sit in an oiled bowl for 30min, covered with tea towl in a warm position.
Prepare baking tray with baking paper.
Preheat oven to 220degree. Oven needs to be hot.
Get dough out. Flaten a little and cut into 9-12 pieces. Roll these into buns and put on prepared baking tray close together so they touch lightly. Give them 25min to rise again.
Mix together piping. For a thicker mixture use less water. 馃挕
Add mixture into pipe or plastic or freezer bag. Cut little whole in it and cross the buns. You know how 馃槈
See picture here:
Place in oven and bake for 15-20min. Keep an eye on them. Depending on the oven, the baking time may vary. You don't want to ruin easter, do you?! #nostress 馃槈
Take out of oven when ready and brush with maple syrup. Let cool down on a rack and ENJOY!
YUM!!!
"They taste like real hot cross buns, munmy!", is what my 6 year old says.
Once again: Happy Easter. 馃
