As music is an important element in my daily life, I keep on drawing my favourite artists in that field to keep the practising going.
Today its Buckethead his turn!!
For the ones who dont know who this Buckethead guy is, with his white mask and a KFC bucket on his head ,... and if you love the sound of an electric guitar, than I advise you to check him out!!!
I got introduced to him by Axl Rose and his Guns n Roses. As Axl put one of my dearest bands back together replacing all the original band, he picked Buckethead for some time to take over Slash s place. As Slash is one of my preferred guitar players I was very curious to hear this Buckethead in action ... and what a nice discovery he was!
His stay with GNR was a very short one, and luckily so perhaps. Even if he did a good job in playing Slash s solos (Nightrain was simply epic) , I prefer him doing his stuff! He produces a large variety of music, from incredibly soft acoustic guitar songs to a bit more classic hard rock, to strange futuristic-like digital music ... the common thread is him with his guitar.
He strikes for his incredible speed in playing the guitar, with tons of good solos... Air-guitaring is an absolute must hahaha.
He has a strange obsession for Japan and their Robots, and chicken!!! The KFC bucket wasn't chosen without a purpose... Which one that is, I still cant figure out :)
Back to the drawing, here is the initial sketch
followed by the inking
It was good fun to blast all that black ink everywhere, the rest is a mix of Copic markers for the shadows, Tombow brushes for most of the colors, and some color pencils mixed in the hair.
I already know who to give this drawing, a good friend has lost it for his guitar :))
