Yesterday was another FUD day. Most, if not in the german speaking world, may not have watched it, but it happened. Again and at large scale.
German publications such as Spiegel, Deutschlandfunk, Blick etc. were quick to spread news that Thailand has made trading with Cryptocurrency illegal "Thailand verbietet Banken Geschäfte mit Kryptowährungen".
What the f*uck? Yes, I thought the same. There was no source at all, other than that the central bank (Bank of Thailand, BOT) president (Veerathai Santiprabhob) would have sent a mail out, that would have supposedly stated such.
In the meantime the real news emerged and can be found here in English:
https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/finance/1411318/institutions-asked-to-avoid-digital-tokens
What it reads is however quite a bit different from the brilliant translation in german speaking media that was copied and distributed by almost everybody in that realm.
"The central bank is seeking the cooperation of financial institutions to avoid investing or trading in digital tokens to benefit themselves or customers, refrain from providing exchange channels for customers trading in cryptocurrencies, and refrain from creating platforms for customers to make crytocurrency transactions, said governor Veerathai Santiprabhob."
Nice FUD spread again, people believed it and the Rothschilds are proud of you, Spiegel & Co.
