Interview with @elizabethbit

Tell us a bit about yourself, what drew you to the Hive community, and what do you like most about it?

I've been on the blockchain since 2018. When HIVE appeared, it was a natural transition for me. What I like most? The people! I've met so many awesome individuals, some of whom have become steadfast friends. I’ve learned about many cultures and family lives in different parts of the world. The community is full of incredible stories and connections that I wouldn't have found elsewhere.

How has your experience been on Hive so far? Any favorite moment or interaction?

I belong to several communities, but one particularly fond experience was with a group of folks from the Silver Gold Stackers community. We used to have a Saturday call where we’d spend a couple of hours just talking. I can recognize many of these people just by their voices, even if I don't know what most of them look like. Sometimes, we’d even be hiking during these calls. It was always a good time.

Which Hive communities or projects are you involved in? Tell us about them.

I am a moderator for the Ladies of Hive. @silversaver888, a longtime friend I met in the SGS community, invited me to be part of it. She became the sister I never had, and I very much enjoy the interaction in this community. I've met so many interesting ladies and interact with many of them often. I love the community!

I am also a moderator and beta tester for the Actifit community. I joined back in 2018 and have been a part of it ever since. Being active is important, especially as we get older. You don't realize how quickly you can lose mobility until you do. Movement is crucial, and that's what this community is all about.

What type of content do you enjoy creating and curating?

Time constraints become more complicated as time moves on, but I create an Actifit post daily. I tag it to LOH and SGS Life to keep in touch with many. Sometimes, my posts are about work or frustrations with it; other times, I post about things in nature that people might not know about. It just depends on the day and what's going on around me.

As for curating, I especially love reading posts from the LOH community. The content is so diverse that you will always find something you enjoy and someone to interact with. The Actifit community, the SGS, and many others also offer interesting content. I often enjoy the armchair traveling I get to do through so many posts!

What are your real interests and passions, and have you discovered any new ones through Hive?

I am an optician by trade, a musician, a coffee roaster, and I love animals and nature. I’ve always liked photography and have a particular interest in macro photography of mushrooms and plant life. Where I live, mushrooms abound, so there’s always something to see, and I look for all of it!

If you could listen to one music genre for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would have to say praise and worship music for me.

If you were to choose only one social media platform to use, which one would you choose?

If I had to choose just one, it would be HIVE because I have established relationships with people from all over the world. I would hate to lose that.

What's the best advice you've ever received?

When making life-changing decisions, seek wise counsel from people you trust and respect.

Speaking of advice, what advice do you have for newbies joining Hive?

Persevere! Don't be afraid to write your content! Join communities and curate as much as possible. Seek wisdom from OGs who have been around for a while. Everyone is willing to help you.

Ladies of Hive community: Where @elizabethbit serves as a moderator, is a space for women to share their experiences and support one another. This community has fostered countless friendships and provided a platform for women to discuss various topics, from personal stories to professional achievements.

The Actifit community where she's also actively involved promotes physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. By tracking and rewarding daily activities, Actifit encourages its members to stay active and maintain their health.
