Above is my latest AI adaptation of original art. The piece was made from the oil painting below and the words 'Dancer creating new space by taking a step.' I'm happy with the way this one turned out. It's weird, but it doesn't feel as uncomfortable as some AI works do.
Today was good. I just worked. The fall weather's been great. 60s and sunny during the day, which is perfect for sitting outside 
I finally received the info I need for displaying my NFTs at the State of Blockchain Event in Minneapolis on October 6. The process of submitting work/bio/etc is confusing and seems a little last minute. I might do it wrong, but I'm sure it'll all work out in the end.
The work I'll be displaying is my Tezos collection History and the Machine, which consists of AI adaptations of oil portraits of interesting persons from history. This collection hasn't received any attention at all on Objkt, so hopefully the exhibition will create some good buzz.
On a completely different subject, there's increasing evidence that CBDCs like the so-called digital dollar won't be anonymous and will be centrally controlled. The forces behind CBDCs want to exercise power over individuals at the level of individual accounts and spending habits. Transaction censorship might become the new free speech frontier in ten years, unless of course the global system falls apart before then.
And speaking of vanishing anonymity, IARPA wants to use AI to identify anonymous writers. This is kind of a non-story, because it's long been possible to use NLP techniques for fingerprinting a writer's style. I've messed around with similar things myself and I'm a total amateur.
To be honest, I generally favor writing being attached to the writer. I'm a free speech absolutist, but I also think that people are responsible for the perspectives they espouse. There are situations where anonymous speech makes sense, but if the speech takes place in the digital world, it's already not-anonymous. All that's in question is who has access to the data that identifies authorship.
It's becoming increasingly popular for the blue team to call for censorship of the total information space, under the pretext of preventing terrorism or combating 'misinformation.' This is one of my least favorite trends. If people are inciting violence online, that's a problem, but censorship isn't the solution. Empowering people to genuinely solve their problems without violence is the solution. This is admittedly harder to implement than censorship, but so what?
