My entry in the poetry contest by 
The Road Ahead
Last night, I made up my mind,
To leave all the troubles behind.
To ditch the past and walk ahead,
Focussing on the bright future instead.
With my heart and soul now combined,
I'll let my inner strength unbind.
Pay no heed to people who misled,
I'll forget whatever they asked, whatever they said.
Let all my despair and sorrow unwind,
A new peace within my soul I'll find.
No signs on my path will go misread,
A bright future waits for me ahead!
