I have no problem with authority... authority has problem with me :) The thing is that "authority issues" are often putting blame on the person. "He has problem with authority", said like he had really bad case of stinking breath. How can be it though that something I did not ask for, something I have absolutely no control over, something I was born into - and if I disregard it is my fault? I have the problem? Nope.
Giving authority is not automatic in any case. I give full authority to my karate teacher, even if it means discomfort and pain, but it is my decision. I generally follow traffic rules in public interest, because I value life of everyone on the road, but not obsessively - I love the thrill of jaywalking in countries where I can get a ticket for it, just to see look on the faces on fellow pedestrians, who can see 200m in each direction, but still wait for the green light, because, well, they don't have a problem with authority, and no problem with self-responsibility, self-sovereignty and self-respect either.
And then, being born gives neither special human rights nor duties. The Universe doesn't care for my right to live and prosper, but there is also no special commandment for, say, paying taxes or going to church. It's all human-made.
So, problem. What I wanted to say that there might be a second bottom here. Maybe there is no need to even talk about "problem" - I've no problem with authority as such. It exists for a reason, or rather, because of a reason. It got created, it evolved, there was a place for it, so it appeared. What I want is neither obey nor destroy it - because destroying it is not possible. What I want is to build a better world, where authority as we know it does not exist.
Therefore I disengage.
The thing is, open rebellion as in Hamburg, fresh and beautiful as it was, it still engages The System. It operates within The System's realm, so to speak. The System is built by the obedient, and has policies, procedures and ways of managing open revolt. In fact, it needs the rebels to prove the obedient that they need The System to protect them from Chaos <audience gasps loudly>. Engagement with the system, positive and negative, is expected and welcome. The only thing the system does not know what to do with and is afraid of is active disengagement. Refusal to follow the scripts.
See, there are scripts for paying taxes and there are scripts for burning cars.
There are no scripts for walking away.
It might just be possible to create new world from outside, without destroying the current one. And then migrate. For the last time. Bloodless revolution... the last revolution has to be bloodless, or it won't be the last one.
