About 2 months ago I made a post about my Hubsan drone, now I can show another one, DJI Mavic Pro.

My neighbor bought it not long ago, and it's a completely different machine. But it ought to be as it costs five times as much as the Hubsan.

It's made for a different purpose, it comes closer to professional photography, whereas the Hubsan is more of a toy to race FPV and make a few photos and movies in the process. It's great to learn to fly and have fun, but it's no photographic marvel. Mavic, on the other hand, can shoot in 4K and has a very good 3-axis gimbal which keeps the camera incredibly still, can travel up to 7 kilometers away from the signal source and in its sport mode can make that distance in no time.

In its tripod mode it's capable of keeping the camera completely still in winds that trash the Hubsan around. It has sophisticated software with maps, waypoints, and statistics, it can actually make simple tasks completely on its own. Multiple advanced functions such as orbit, panorama, follow terrain, point of interest and others work great and simplify making amazing photography. And it's all controlled easily from the smartphone. The best thing is probably collision avoidance system which has multiple sensors that detect obstacles 15 meters away, so it's harder to crash it :) On the whole, it's a really great package and of very good quality.

A downward look at the forest from quite high up. The gimbal changes everything when it comes to making photos and movies, plus it makes it possible to see how close the obstacles are underneath.
