Tomb Raider (2013) Finding Captain Roth & Getting Choked 1 Hour Gameplay| Mac's Gaming

Hey everyone! I am back with another installment of my gaming journey. I got Tomb Raider as a gift a while back but have only been playing them seriously these past week. Tomb Raider is an action-adventure game that I have been wanting to play for so long alongside Assassin Creed (which I could have yet afford). While juggling Black Desert Online, I decided to seriously finish Tomb Raider than Bully scholarship where I suck at school & _{geography like a stereotypical American would}. Anyhow, this is my journey finding Roth, Captain of the Endurance after the shipwreck when the crews & Lara reached the Dragon’s Triangle. This is the first few quest of the game and I met this Russian speaking scavenger/mercenaries that I got choked before I got it right 😂

Did you know that Tomb Raider has a multiplayer option too?

Maybe some of you know, maybe some of you don’t. When I first installed this game, I found the multiplayer option that basically lets you play with a friend. It’s more of a hide and seek rather than exploring places together. It is only fun when played with more than 2 people rather than just 1 vs 1 game. If you have the game and a bunch of friends, the Tomb raider multiplayer is a great option.

Is Tomb Raider still worth playing in 2024?

For someone who recently discovered this game, I was in awe of the graphic. I played with the highest setting on my laptop and the graphics still look pretty good considering it has been a decade. It is quite immersive and if you’re playing on a modern laptop, it would work just fine except on Steam; they recently announced that the Steam client will only support Windows 10 and later versions.

Tomb Raider 2013 story revolves around the adventure of Lara Croft finding the lost kingdom called Yamatai. After they almost reached the island, they decided to go to the Dragon’s Triangle which is quite stormy and risking their ship to be capsized. While Lara insisted on it and Roth agreeing to go there, their ship eventually consumed by the storm leaving lara woke up in the middle of a cave surrounded by candles attempting to flee. While it is not yet known what the rituals are and why Lara was in a pupa form, players are left to discover more of the story playing as Lara. After escaping horrid scenes and walking through the dark and rainy areas, she eventually realized that all of her crew were nowhere to be found and was left to find them. While Roth isn’t the first person she meet, he is the first one that she attempted to find because he’ll guide Lara to send SOS signal.

While there are many more latest and trendy action-adventure games, Tomb Raider 2013 is still worth playing especially when you want to feel a little nostalgia. If you haven’t had the chance to play it like I do, I am sure you’d enjoy it too.

Finding Roth- No commentary

I recorded the video without commentary because I don’t have a microphone yet. I am still looking for a decent one and when I do, I will give commentary because I find it so hilarious at a few moments when I got choked on by Russian mercenaries a few times because I didn’t press the button correctly. The things I need to improve on

One of the things I need to improve on this game is basically how I handle my controller. It is pretty sensitive hence the character moves shakily a lot of the time. It’s pretty annoying because it hurts my eyes and it doesn’t look good in recording too. Not gonna lie, the game sometimes scares me. It has a few jump scare moments where I have to act quickly such as almost getting eaten by the wolves & around the creepy tomb with the wolves hanging around.

I think this game has a solid story and plot that just hooked you. It’s like you’re immersed in the story and if you want to take the time, there are places to explore in this game. One thing that I find nice about it is that there is no time limit for each quest. It took a bit of time for me to adjust because with Bully: Scholarship edition, a lot of its quests and side quests are time based whereas this game was meant to be enjoyed. So, I decided to drop Bully for a while and focus on this just so I can truly enjoy the adventure and experience.

There are also a few more Tomb Raider series that I needed to check out such as the Shadow of the Tomb Raider. But for now, let’s finish this one!
