Great Conqueror 2: Shogun! #32 Defensive Stand

English

Hello Hive Gamers! Today I bring you the thirty-second chapter of my campaign in Great Conqueror 2: Shogun. In this session, my primary focus shifted toward resisting the relentless advance of the Takeda clan from the south while fiercely defending my home capital.

After losing nearly three fortresses simultaneously, I decided to pivot my strategy toward a slightly more defensive approach. I assigned a couple of units to hold the line in the dense forests near the Lida fortress in South Shinano, where the terrain heavily favors my troops and helps stall the Takeda advance. Meanwhile, I have established a solid garrison right at my capital to intercept and crush the Nagao detachments that marched all the way to the heartland to assault my main city.

The most interesting part of my current tactical plan revolves around the recently lost fortresses in the Mino region. Naturally, they are heavily garrisoned by enemy Nagao troops, but I still have surrounding units actively engaging them in constant skirmishes to wear down their defenses, drive them out, and retake the strongholds. They heavily outnumber me, but with smart positioning, I might just pull off a victory!

Curiously enough, after marching a massive army of units right through my territory, the Imagawa clan suddenly canceled our military access agreement. It is a rather bizarre diplomatic twist, but it perfectly highlights the severe breakdown of relations in this utterly chaotic war.
