Our calico cat is called Sunny. Sheโs very chatty, curious and adventurous. Sheโs practically a typical calico and we love her dearly. As much as my mom has prejudice towards these type of cats, she takes liking in Sunny the most.
Afterall, she helps guard our home from rodent and the likes. The thing is, she was missing for 2 weeks. She didnโt wear any necklace then because my cousin took it off and Sunny is the only cat in the house without any necklace for a while.
When she left home, we were worried. The first day, I tried looking around the neighborhood but I couldnโt find her. The thing is, this type of cat is just like stray cats, just so regular and even more so when itโs roaming without a necklace. We didnโt give up hope and hoping she would come home and she would just play around the neighborhood.
We were worried that she is hurt by other stray cats considering sheโs pretty much an indoor cat prior this. She rarely eats human food and weโve wondered how she survived the time outside. My mom and dad tried finding her but to no avail. Since both of them likes roaming around the neighborhood, they were hoping that Sunny would be found. As much as we asked around, our neighbors also didn't mention they'd see Sunny. We thought of the worse case that she was taken away by people away from our neighborhood.
I didnโt know it at first because I was sleeping but once I woke up, Sunny would follow me everywhere I go. She meows a lot as if telling me her stories while being outside.
Our family found it really strange that she couldnโt be found around the neighborhood. We formulated some possibilities included her being captured and was not able to escape the house she was in.
She could also play around the market and forgot way home or just found some cats to play which was a bit far from our home. But even then, my mom who frequents all possible places she could be found, couldnโt find her and we find that pretty odd. Even for me who goes out during that weeks, couldn't really find her.
For the next two days, Sunny ate a lot, meows a lot and she also plays around with her sisters. She cuddled around Micky that I got to capture in this post. They don't often do it especially now they are around a year old but you can see from this, Sunny is just really happy she's back around the familiar faces.
It seemed that sheโs really missing home and her time with the sisters. Nowadays even when we open the door, Sunny wouldnโt want to go out, sheโs not curious anymore.
I eventually bought a replacement for her necklace. That way, if sheโs ever roam outside again, people know that the cat has a home and a place to return to.
