It is not about bubble baths, cutting off from internet, or sleeping all day.

I used to think self-care was about all of pretty things. I used to think self-care was about taking a day off, watching movies, and feeding my gluttony. Until, I didn't realize a day becomes two days, and two days become endless of idleness. Soon, we're further far from improving ourselves. Instead, we wake up one day, realizing that we only became worse.

It dawned me that self-care advertised out there can turn into self-destruct. Hence why, I started exploring the idea of radical self-care. The idea was introduced first by a friend of mine, who showed me what a radical self-care is. In a nutshell, it's actually taking care of ourselves. For instance : if we need to take medication and constantly forget about it, we have to do what it takes to make us remember, like  setting an alarm.

Self-care isn't as pretty as it looks. It's understanding our obstacles and work to tackle it. So, at the end of the day, we can catch a breath and feel content, knowing that we have take a good care of ourselves.
