Putting the Pieces Together

Responding to @ph1102 challenge on writing a reflection, I'd like to start with how I naturally think. I am particularly a curious person and this lead me to be a jack of all trades. You can make a general knowledge bank based on what I have learned from all the seemingly unrelated things in this world. But, I am not scattered as I thought I did. I can combine all the unrelated knowledge into something meaningful. Take for instance, my latest venture building Terrae, Land Acquisition Operations Platform. This app combines my knowledge on land acquisition, mapping, technology and project management. This project has led me into top 300 in a global AI competition in China last month despite only thinking 2 days before submitting the pitch and creating a prototype for it. And it all started because I find the parcel and compliance reporting were so tedious.

I like to make things more efficient and I enjoy doing so. You can see that I am not running out of ideas to solve problems but it's always funding that I have a problem with. For instance, to realize this app, I would need somewhere around 500$ to $700 (because the developer is reasonable and is our shared portfolio) but the domain etc and extra security takes up most of our budget.

As for the market, I can do some research and I know where and who to sell. Like for that app/software, Who are we selling it for? We're selling this app to consultants, companies who work in mining and related field with perks and stuff. Gamification is something I am good at too and I already know how. But there's one thing that I am lacking, marketing.

As much as I know how to market and all the theory, finding clients etc have never been my forte. I outsource this job to friends, family, colleagues, associates to market my product. I am good at pitching you the product but I still need to learn so that people can close the deal with me. When I sell things, people buy my services or products because of its quality and my vision.

Another thing I am really good at is influencing people in a way that they start to believe in themselves. I inject some fresh ideas to them and most of them thrive with their skills. Some really soar high and I am happy for them.

Right now, I run a research-innovation studio. It doesn't take a proper shape yet but if you want to hire someone to help your organizations understand complicated real-world problems, conduct field research, organize information, visualize it, communicate it clearly, and eventually turn insights into practical tools or programs, you can hire me!

I also invested in this business recently but again, the problem is that I need to find time to grow it. We were planning to add crypto payment but due to regulation, it isn't possible. 😄 So maybe when I am debt free, I could look into setting up the company somewhere else.

For example my last event based on my last event the entire cost of the project was 428 and there were about 35 people signing up so the acquisition cost was $14.26/user.

With that kind of skills and lacking of education background, it was challenging for me to penetrate into research / academia field. So, recently, I am going back to school just to earn the degree / necessary key and certifications so I can get straight into better consulting companies. Even within crypto, I got into a round interview for research position but nothing after that. Nowadays, I am hoping to grow my reseach-innovation studio but also scanning and finding better job opportunities.
