Did you ever feel like you want to sleep all day during a certain weather?
Interestingly, during the pandemic we are required to stay indoor than outdoor. Many people reported of losing the track of time. However, life has to continue so we follow our regular circadian rhythm meaning we go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. Hence why how could weather affect us since we're required to stay indoor?
There's a study by E howart and M.S. Hoffman on the relation between weather with mood. They found that weather was significant predictor of changes in the majority of mood. There are several factors but one that captures my interest is the humidity factor that might be integral part of our performance. The level of humidity affects attention and alertness. A too hot and too cold environment affects greatly on one performance. Yet there is no mention of the perfect humidity that should be in one's room. Another similar study by Allen and fisher (1978) and Auliciems (1972) mentioned that performance decreased as humidity increased. So humidity affects our performace.
Have you set your environment to have the medium humidity?
Since home become our working space, it is important to set the environment to work in our favor.
I had instances when all I want to do is curl up in bed and avoid my responsibilities. Until I learn to switch my environment.
I know it's very normal for students to live in a tiny dorm room and struggling their way to college. But it doesn't have to be a torturing experience. So it's why I have been working on setting up my environment to be as comfortable as possible to work.
My productivity during the pandemic is obviously very low. There are days when I am very productive because I get all my sh*t together but there are also days when it's nonexistent. There's really no trick around it sometimes. Most of the times, I just try to push through it.
