One day a chonky cat was following me and my mom from the market.
He came to our house in a very poor condition. He seemed to get into a fight and ripped apart half of his cheek bone. It was grim to see him in that condition. For first aid care, my mom treated the cat with saline and povidone-iodine. And we kept doing that everyday while also buying him proper cat food.
As you can see, that part is still open. It was worse when he first came into our house
Apparently according to our neighbors he is abandoned by its owner who moved to the other neighborhood.
Only after a few days after the holiday is over and shops are open, we got him tamacilin. He kept quiet when we applied tamacilin and went back to sleep on our sofa. I remember watching tiktok where street cats often don’t have that luxury but usually freelance cats in our place would have that luxury. They can sit in the couches that we don’t use.
Ever since we fed him, he would come back everyday but leave at night. He’s not good at catching mice but his presence is enough to scare away the mice at home.
Pino isn’t his actual name but it’s just a name that we give to unnamed freelance cats. When they passed away or left home, for some reason my grandma called it that way even when we suggested another name. So, that orange chonky chat is probably pino the 10th 🤣
For now, his condition seems to be improving and he’s getting fatter. He eats a lot for a cat who likes sleeping on the couch. We are planning to treat his eyes as we see that it’s dirty and he might have something around it.
It looks like this one will be staying longer because he seems to be more of a house cat than an actual stray cat. So, maybe that’s why he likes to stay inside rather than going outside. He also seems to be adjusting with his new environment and would respond if we call him by pino. We also like to tease him by shaking the cat’s food can and he would follow us to get the food.
