Though the past few days have rained, on the 11th night, the sky was clear. There were no clouds passing through. The moon was visible but translucent to my impaired human eyes. I called up my mom and told her that it’s harvest moon and the moon is full. Since she now believes in some kind of woo woo stuff, she prayed and made a wish to the moon. It’s interesting how she progressed from pretty much a poster of 80’s youth to live in a conservative neighborhood to now, a digital age where she finally rekindled with her 80’s youth self. While me, my interest has been the moon itself, the more scientific part of the moon. Harvest moon itself refers to full, bright Moon that occurs closest to the start of autumn. Thus far, I have managed to capture the supermoon and blood moon. There are also branches of the full moon like the one that happens before each season.
Some of the shots here were quite experimental but my camera wasn’t pro enough to capture the nuances around the moon. That night, a star was also visible next to it which honestly would have made the picture more amazing. I know my pictures aren’t like those in New York or different parts of the world with amazing backgrounds. But for a selenophile, I think just seeing the moon itself and being able to capture it is quite rewarding.
