Creating My Dream Space - From Shoebox to Spacious

Cleaning, more cleaning and again cleaning.

My daily life lately is definitely filled with lots of cleaning and organizing the stuff that needs to have its own place in this home. The second floor of the house used to be a spot for my mom but now, it’s turned into a mini studio where I am the one living in it. I have to say, adjusting to a bigger place is quite a challenge. I am used to live in a shoebox like room, a 3square room that can only fit one person. Now, my room can fit about 3-4 people in it and as big as a living room. There’s also a balcony, a walking closet, a shower area and laundry are in the 2nd floor. The only thing that’s missing is definitely kitchen since it’s only on the first floor. But I don’t really need them for now.

It’s safe to say, to clean the entire 2nd floor would need about a month especially if the pace is like what I am doing, an hour or two a day focusing on one or two spots. Just like the other day, I was attempting to organizing my drawer where it holds mostly medical supplies. At first, it was looking like this and then after some organization and cleaning up things that I don’t need, it looks a lot more like this.

In this area, I also have to replace old electric sockets. While I already installed newer ones on the other spots but that spot has been something that got ignored the last time I did a mini renovation to the space. I am a little clean freak and I love things to be organized in a certain ways and it’s why it’s really taking the time to. At the same time, I also plan on getting rid most of the furniture in the room to be replaced by newer ones. Yet these days I am still moving between places to finalize my move and cleaned things out for good. The room also needs a repaint and fixes here and there. It's really like playing those house fixing game on your phone or harvestmoon 😂

I definitely will do a room tour once my room is finished its renovation and cleaning but there’s still so much to do while I only have about an hour or two daily at most. My focus is still finding place for my things and hoping that by the end of June, it’ll be cleaned and I can start repainting phase. I want it to be done in about 2-3 months before the rainy season comes.

At the same time, I am also working on the balcony project and a guest room project. So, there are definitely so much to work on. With my niece growing bigger, me and my family wanted to have a room that she can use to rest and stay over at our place. I also want my friends to be able to visit and work from my home or stay over, that’s why I want it to be done as soon as possible. Afterall, I can be quite a homebody and enjoys being athome the most. So, having a comfortable space to live in is definitely my dream.
