With only 20% progress as of December 21st, it looks like that dream is out of reach. I can't believe that they actually set the bar really high. I mentioned earlier that it's around 2 million total transaction which is around $130. Can you imagine how expensive that planner would be? At the same time, I read in another country, all they have to do is collect some stickers. It's a bit unfair and I hope next year they think through it and make some adjustments or maybe never.
Today, my mom and I were feeling cooped up in my room, so I took her outside for some fresh air. While there were plenty of cafes to go in town, Starbucks was the only place that I want to go. Plus, I've turned her into a Starbucks addict - even though she doesn't drink coffee, she really enjoys Starbucks' chocolate options.
There's a funny story between her and my dad. My dad was teasing my mom because she was ordering chocolate. My dad told her, " C'mon it's Starbucks, they are known for their coffee! why would you order chocolate that you can buy cheap from any cafe?" but that doesn't stop my mom from ordering chocolate. Whenever I take her to Starbucks, she will get the chocolate drinks.
Today, Starbucks had an outage. Their system went down and because of that, I actually get free Starbucks despite that I was actually going to redeem it with my vouchers. The staff were so kind telling me that if I was in a rush, I can just leave without paying. Thought it was a nice gesture, I felt a bit uneasy about it. So, I waited upstairs doing some work. I am not going to lie that I was actually worried because before going to Starbucks, I put some of my meal money in the app. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to access it and that added some shit that happened to me today.
Thankfully, in the end, I could access the app again and the system was restored. I also got free birthday cake just because I set my birthday on December. Who can deny a free cake, right? I was given some options but I ended up choosing their strawberry cheesecake.
The other day @jane1289 asked me if I was a real Indonesian, maybe? because I don't like spicy or even can eat spicy food and I can survive on bread unlike my mom who has to eat rice all the time like most Indonesians. Even before going, my mom was suggesting if we pack rice so that she can eat inside Starbucks 馃ぃ.
My mom always complains that I really took time in Starbucks and that she gets bored. But I told her that I'd be quick and we can have dinner around the area. Although for me, I was just fine eating whatever bread and sandwiches I can find at Starbucks. In the end, after staying for 4 hours at Starbucks, we ended up exploring Maliboro street and found newer spot to shop, take a stroll & window shopping. On our way back home, I still need a coffee fix. So, we walked to Starbucks again and I got another caffeine fix. Anyway, that's my coffee story today!
