If Hong Kong is beautiful during the day, its beauty is doubled at night. The city becomes even more vibrant and full of life after sunset.
The shimmering lights from the skyscrapers transform the entire skyline. Every building has its own unique design and architecture, and when illuminated with colorful lights, the city feels like a completely different world. Walking through Central and along the Central Harbourfront reminded me of scenes from an anime, where the cities are filled with colorful lights and futuristic buildings. It truly felt like stepping into a vibrant, digital world.
We are also very thankful to the agency that helped us plan our trip. They recommended that we visit Victoria Harbour at night, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay. From the harbour, we admired the breathtaking skyline across the water, with its towering skyscrapers glowing in colorful neon lights. There was something incredibly peaceful about simply standing there, watching the city come alive.
We were also fortunate to visit Hong Kong during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The festive atmosphere, beautiful decorations, and special celebrations made our trip even more memorable and added another layer of magic to an already unforgettable journey.

amazing Skyscrapers behind馃槏
Hong Kong decorates parks and public spaces with artistic lanterns and illuminated moon installations every year during this festival.
This beautiful moon display was located in Hong Kong Park. Since we visited during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the park was decorated with special lantern installations celebrating one of China's most cherished traditions. The glowing moon symbolizes family reunion, harmony, and good fortune, inspired by the ancient legend of Chang'e, the Moon Goddess.
This was the exact view of the skyscrapers across Victoria Harbour from where we were standing. It was absolutely breathtaking! Seeing the illuminated skyline reflected on the water made the whole scene feel magical.
Who wouldn't want to visit Hong Kong with a view like this? It's the kind of scenery that leaves you speechless and creates memories you'll never forget. It's definitely an experience that no visitor should miss.
Anime lovers, look at this view!
If you've ever wondered what it feels like to walk through a city that looks like it's straight out of an anime, Hong Kong at night comes incredibly close. The playful lights, towering skyscrapers, and busy streets create a magical, futuristic atmosphere that feels almost unreal. It's a view you have to experience for yourself.
That evening, we also took the opportunity to look for the famous mooncakes. Near the harbour, there were many stalls selling traditional food and drinks, so we hoped to find one that sold mooncakes. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any. We later realized that we were simply too late鈥攊t was already the last day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and most of the mooncakes had already been sold.
Even so, we enjoyed exploring the food stalls and bought a variety of local snacks to try. We spent the rest of the evening enjoying the cool ocean breeze, listening to the lively sounds of the crowd, and taking in the festive atmosphere. It was a wonderful way to end another unforgettable night in Hong Kong.
People gathered along Victoria Harbour to witness thousands of drones creating different images in the night sky above the water. It was absolutely spectacular! Some of the formations told stories and displayed symbols related to Hong Kong's Mid-Autumn Festival, making the show even more meaningful.
As the performance began, the harbour quickly became crowded with people watching in amazement, taking photos, and capturing videos of the incredible display. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and wonder.
We stood there in awe, completely fascinated by what we were seeing. To be honest, it was my first time ever watching a drone show, and it was an unforgettable experience!
One of the things we enjoyed that night was seeing this traditional boat sailing across Victoria Harbour. With the city lights reflecting on the water, it looked so beautiful and peaceful. Since we visited during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the atmosphere felt even more special. Watching the boat pass by while everyone enjoyed the festival was a simple but unforgettable moment during our trip.
This picture was taken on one of the evenings while we were strolling through the city streets. Our plan was to find some souvenirs to bring home for our families, but unfortunately, we couldn't find anything we really liked. So instead, we simply enjoyed walking around and exploring the lively streets. We eventually came across this beautiful corner, filled with people passing by and colorful lanterns hanging across the street. The atmosphere was so vibrant and enjoyable. After we started feeling tired, we had dinner at a nearby restaurant before heading back to our apartment.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Sky100, the observation deck that offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of Hong Kong. From the top, we could see countless skyscrapers, busy roads, mountains in the distance, and the city stretching as far as the eye could see. It was truly an incredible view.
However, for someone who is afraid of heights like me, it was also one of the most nerve-racking experiences of my life! As soon as I looked out through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, my legs started to feel weak. At one point, I even felt as if the tower was gently swaying back and forth. I know it was probably just my fear playing tricks on me, but it felt so real that all I wanted was to go back down to the ground as quickly as possible. When I told my husband what I was feeling, he explained that the tower really does sway slightly because of the wind. Since the building is so tall, it is designed to move a little to safely withstand strong winds. That's also why it has a strong structural support system to keep it stable and secure. But instead of feeling relieved, I became even more terrified! I couldn't believe I was right鈥攖he tower really was swaying! I know it's completely normal for such a tall building, but that didn't help calm my nerves at all. It was absolutely terrifying for me, and all I wanted was to get out of there as quickly as possible!
What surprised me even more was how relaxed everyone else seemed to be. Inside Sky100, there were restaurants where people were calmly enjoying their meals. Families with young children were walking around, and some kids were even running from one window to another without a care in the world. Meanwhile, I could barely bring myself to stand near the glass!
To be honest, Sky100 is an amazing place to visit, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Hong Kong. The views are unforgettable, especially at sunset and in the evening when the city lights begin to sparkle. Unfortunately, I couldn't fully enjoy the experience because I was simply too scared. I spent most of my time standing in a safe corner, while my husband walked from window to window, taking photos of the spectacular skyline from above.
This picture was taken while we were strolling through the streets near our apartment. One of the things I really liked about Hong Kong was how convenient everything was. Almost everything was within walking distance.
As soon as we stepped out of our apartment, we could already walk to the public escalator鈥攚hich, by the way, was incredibly long! As we stood on the escalator going down, we passed countless bars, restaurants, and clubs. Day and night, people from different countries gathered there to enjoy drinks, chat with friends, or simply sit and work on their laptops. The area was always full of life.
Hong Kong truly felt like a city for everyone. In fact, we met people from many different nationalities, which made the city feel very international and welcoming. Every day brought a new experience and a new realization about how diverse and vibrant the city is.
We also had the chance to eat at some of the restaurants and visit a few of the bars we passed along the way. When we finally reached the bottom of the escalator, we continued walking and came across this German restaurant along one of the busy streets. My husband took a photo of it because we thought it was interesting to find German cuisine in Hong Kong. We didn't eat there, though. Instead, we found a nearby bar where we enjoyed a couple of drinks and some light snacks before heading back to our apartment.
Another well-known character from the legend is the Jade Rabbit, who is believed to live on the moon with her.馃悋
