Confrontation is a very difficult thing for most. Instead people better chose to turn away or bite their tongues and say nothing at all. Whisper to themselves it is not my business. Cowardly hide their tails between their legs in fear of backlash. It is once again the issue of comfort. It is very uncomfortable position to be direct and call someone out on their intentional wrongdoings. It is the reason why some get away with it. We let them, not because we are just too nice or kind, or well mannered, but because we did not want to get our hands dirty, stir up the pot or to get involved in uncomfortable situations.
Playing along with something we know is wrong is rather weak and spineless. Confrontation can help moving things in better direction. Still we are not really great at it because it requires certain amount of calm and ability to stay on the issues without emotions getting in the way. Unfortunately that is also not the strong suit for most of the humankind. It is why we often regret things we have said or done when we are highly emotional and let our judgement be clouded. Later we kick ourselves for all the things we did not get across or failed to communicate or just failed entirely exposing our own weaknesses and shortcomings. It is not all hopeless though. It is a skill that can be worked with.
