My posting activity has dropped a lot. There are several reasons. The biggest one? Struggling with emotions and thus being scattered all over the place. It is hard to gather myself and focus on doing anything. Anything at all sometimes. You know, when you sit and stare while your thoughts are racing I should get stuff done and this other thing had to be done yesterday and simply can’t move. Pure frustration. There is a cloud of worthlessness hovering over my mind disabling me be my awesome self.
Nature helps me. If I am not feeling well that is where I will be. Either walk, run or just sit somewhere by the water or forest with no soul around. Currently, I have found this spot about two kilometers from my home. A little, tranquil park area with few tables and chairs right beside the loch. Every time I go there I am surprised that no one is there. How lucky!
Yesterday, I was fortunate to curate this post by @binkyprod who talks about how playing the piano is a meditation for her. For me, if I manage to get past the feeling of worthlessness, being creative and creating is meditation. Then I immerse myself in the process for hours and everything else fades in the background while with every focused brushstroke my mind slowly sorts out the clutter of messy thoughts.
Acrylics are not my first choice of paints. Two summers ago I discovered watercolors and been loving the nuances and intricate details with a spice of surprise they provide. Acrylics, on the other hand, I find a lot more difficult to control. Quite frankly, I am clueless about how to acrylic. Plus, canvas also affects the behavior of paints. Again clueless. However, that doesn’t stop one to try and see what happens.
I had nothing particular in mind to paint. So puffy, “cotton candy” clouds were to become the test subjects of the unfamiliar medium. You probably can tell, I still tried hard to watercolor with acrylics on canvas xD In other words, I feel like I failed. That is also part of the learning process though.
A while back I bought some modeling clay. Since then I’ve made these tiny, silly critters. They are tiny because I simply don’t have enough material to work with, but hopefully, soon I will be able to work on some bigger projects as I am enjoying quite a lot experimenting, shaping and molding a lifeless piece of clay into something that resembles subjects and objects we have around.
So happy how my wee chicken turned out!
If you are wondering, this was meant to be a stylized version of a cat of some sort
Found some lavender out there as well. Of course, I had to pluck some leaves. I love the scent so much!
Anyways, that’s where I am at. Sometimes good. Sometimes struggling. Sometimes oh well it is just life. Thank you for stopping by!
