" Resilient" is the latest addition to my Lyme Awareness Art series which contains over a dozen of artworks, mostly portraits of women, illustrating the invisible symptoms of chronic illness.
This series started on its own, meaning it wasn't planned. After realizing six portraits, I noticed that there was a connection between them, that they were all trying to convey similar messages, voicing the struggle of a chronically ill patient.
"Resilient" portrays part of the Lyme journey and its "surprises". It is currently exhibited at Montreal Art Centre until July 18th, along with five other artworks from the same series, as part of the Emerging Artist Exhibition, "L'Art est une œuvre".
