Hallo liebe Community,
zum gro脽en Jubil盲um, meinem 50. Reiseblog Post, kommt heute ein absolutes Highlight und vermutlich einer meiner sch枚nsten Urlaube. Das erste mal in Florida, dem Sunshine State. Wir hatten eine Mietwagen f眉r die Zeit, ein Chevrolet Traverse. Den gibt es in Deutschland nicht. Kein Wunder, der steckt jeden Audi Q8 in die Tasche und passt hierzulande in keine Parkl眉cke. Ein Hammerteil!
Eingemietet hatten wir uns in ein sehr sch枚nes Ferienhaus in Bonita Springs an der Golfk眉ste im Westen zwischen Naples und Fort Meyers. Hier hatten wir alles was das Herz begehrt. Der Pool war super und die Kinder nicht heraus zu bekommen. Hier bin ich auch voll auf den Geschmack eines Gasgrills gekommen. Konnte ich mir vorher nie vorstellen, hat mich aber begeistert, so dass ich nun selbst einen habe. Nat眉rlich waren wir auch oft ausw盲rts essen und auch Hummer habe ich zum ersten Mal im leben hier gegessen.
Aber am besten von allem war der Strand direkt vor der Haust眉r. Der barefoot beach, der auch schon mehrmals als einer der sch枚nsten Str盲nde der USA ausgezeichnet wurde hat uns v枚llig geflasht. Wenig los, feinsandiger, breiter Strand, warmes Wasser und Muscheln, die ich in der Gr枚脽e und Anzahl noch nie vorher gesehen hatte. Auf einem bild seht Ihr den Panzer eines toten Pfeilschwanzkrebses. Das sind recht gro脽e Urzeitkrebse, die es dort massenhaft gibt, sehr interessant.
Auch sogenannte Sand Dollars, eine Unterart der Seeigel, findet man buchst盲blich wie Sand am Meer. Man kann sie zwar auch f眉r 1 Dollar pro St眉ck als Souvenir kaufen, aber selber sammeln macht doch viel mehr Spa脽! Die Stimmung bei Sonnenuntergang am Barefoot beach werde ich nie vergessen, ein unbeschreibliches Erlebnis.
脺ber unsere Touren in die Everglades, Disneyland und nach Daytona werde ich in einem weiteren Post noch berichten.
Florida ist in jedem Fall immer eine Reise wert! Ich kann Euch nur dringend empfehlen direkt den n盲chsten Trip zu planen, Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen.

for the big anniversary, my 50th travel blog post, today comes an absolute highlight and probably one of my best vacations. The first time in Florida, the Sunshine State. We had a rental car for the time, a Chevrolet Traverse. You can't get that in Germany. No wonder, it's as big as any Audi Q8 and doesn't fit in any parking space in this country. A great piece of equipment!
We rented a very nice vacation home in Bonita Springs on the Gulf Coast in the west between Naples and Fort Meyers. Here we had everything our hearts desired. The pool was great and the kids couldn't get out of it. Here I also got a taste for a gas grill. I could never imagine before, but I was so enthusiastic that I now have one myself. Of course we often went out to eat and I also ate lobster for the first time in my life here.
But best of all was the beach right outside the front door. The barefoot beach, which has been awarded several times as one of the most beautiful beaches in the U.S. has us completely flashed. Not much going on, fine sandy, wide beach, warm water and shells, which I had never seen before in this size and number. On a picture you see the shell of a dead horseshoe crab. These are quite large prehistoric crabs, there are masses of them, very interesting.
Also so called sand dollars, a subspecies of sea urchins, can be found literally like sand on the beach. You can buy them for 1 dollar each as a souvenir, but collecting them yourself is much more fun! I will never forget the atmosphere at sunset at Barefoot beach, an indescribable experience.

Florida is in any case always worth a trip! I can only strongly recommend you to plan your next trip, you will not regret it.
