"Just face it...!"
That's what they said. Face it. It was easier said than done.
There "it" was. It was staring me in the face. It was my issue, my prerogative, my firmly clenched desire and my detestable overflow of that which I did not need. But there it was. So I faced it.
At first it seemed so huge; so magnificently enormous. It overwhelmed me. My mind swirled with notions of how to even comprehend it. It was larger than anything I had ever known. And it was so powerful that I felt its energy encompassing me as if it were a forcefield engulfing me. I couldn't even see it in its entirety; I had to move my eyes here and there, back and forth, just to capture it in a panoramic view.
But then I noticed something else. It was fierce and fiery, bold and brash, demanding and insistent. Yet, somehow, it was gentle and meek, soft and lucid, mellow and content. It was exotic and exhilarating! In its presence, I was so small and insignificant, and so treasured and admired. I was so confused. What was this "it" that I had to face, and, in the face of "it", what was I?
I had never been in this situation before. This was all new for me. So I decided to just sit and take it all in. I became one with "it", and "it" became one with me. I faced "it" and "it" faced me. We connected in a way that I cannot explain. I became aware of the completeness of "it" and "it" absorbed my whole existence. We faced each other.
I would love to tell you all of what transpired after the facing took place, but then, that's not what I'm here to share as each of us will end up with a different result, a varied outcome, after the facing occurs. And that would spoil the moment. Just remember the facing of "it"- Face it and see what happens...
