Dear all hivers. How are you? Today, I am going to bring you on a trip to a food store in Miri here that sells local Sarawakian food. This is a type of dish that food that is quite popular here. A lot of people have this for breakfast. It is none other than the
KOLO MEE
This is the kolo mee. Yellow springy noodles boiled in water and placed in a bowl that has been prepared with some gravy within it. Then mix it together and you've got a delicious dish.
The family-owned store
While I was here, I noticed that a family ran this stall. They have the drink stall on one side and the noodles store on the opposite side, so after getting my food, they also asked you if you wanted any drinks?
This area is one of the earliest places to set up in Miri City. The early city area was all here in the early days. It is still here today. Many locals still come here to have their breakfast every single day.
The noodle stalls
One of the best places to eat here in Miri is the hawkers here. You can see them cook in front of you. Most of them usually try their best to create the best-tasting dish. They want to make sure that the customers come back to them every single day.
There are also many other stalls here.
Usually, by afternoon many of the stalls here close for the day to prepare for the next day. The stalls here usually open quite early in the morning.
The kopi c
I usually do not have any sugar in my drink. However, I do usually have my coffee added with milk just to give it some creamy texture.
Wan Tan Hoe
My wife ordered the Wa Tan Hoe. It is made with flat white noodles and mixed with lots of veggies and other meat. The best thing about this dish is that it has lots of gravy and it doesn't taste dry.
After a while of waiting. Btw , this is the fast food of Miri.
If you are in a rush and want to have some food. Just get to the nearest stall that sells Kolo Mee. Usually, they have it ready within a couple of minutes of order and as well as that, it is super duper affordable.
