What does the stall that sells breakfast looks like in Hatyai?
14.1.2023
We were out and about finding getting some food before driving around Hatyai.
My wife saw this on Google maps and we got a grab car to come here to eat.
A nice little stall. The lady here selling lots of different traditional soup noodles. She ordered porridge. I went to a nearby 7-11 to grab some burgers and some cheese sandwich.
This is the lady who makes the porridge.
From the looks of her, she must be in her sixties or seventies this year. She is still so hardworking preparing porridge.
That is her daughter I guess
So how did we order food in Hatyai even though we couldn't speak any Thai or read. Some places have chinese characters on their menu while there are some that are purely in Thai. So sometimes, I'll just get the google translate app and have the camera face the words. It usually translate the words automatically.
The menu
It's exciting too to not be able to read what it says there.
So while my wife was ordering her porridge, I went to 7-11 to check out what they had.
So many choices of food to choose from. I had to get a burger.
Cheese sandwich
These are kept on their fridge but later at the counter, I could request for them to be heated. Nothing beats a hot breakfast.
The motorbike seller
Throughout Hatyai, while I was there, I saw lots of these portable (not sure if that's the correct word) motorbikes moving around selling food and even goods.
Then the wonderful wires. It's just amazing how this looks and it still functions so well.
These wires are just a couple of metres above. There are some which are also reachable.
After breakfast, we got back to our hotel.
Got my car delivered to the hotel. This was the car I was going to drive for the next two days.
The Nissan Leaf
I've never driven a Nissan branded car before. It was an amazing car to drive. I had to learn how to drive in Thailand in minutes. Driving in Thailand is different as compared to in Malaysia. The parking is different. Then there are countless of motorcycles around. You have to be fast in making sure that you get your coordinates right. If you miss that particular right turn and go straight instead, it's pretty hard to go to the right. Then there are some junctions where all four sides have oncoming traffic at the same time.
So do you want to know where I went next?
Do read the next post.
