Chinese New Year is a week away. Hi everybody, hope that your happy and enjoying your day. I wanted to continue my Kuching trip post, but I guess, I am sharing this decor first. Marina Time Square is an area that you have to definitely visit if you come to Miri city. I also made a YouTube video that I shot here. This is what it looks like in Miri City during Chinese New Year.
Beautiful pink Sakuras and lanterns at the entrance as you walk in. @reidenling90 reminded me that Valentine's day is coming soon. This year the Chinese New Year will be celebrated together with Valentine's day.
Chinese New Year doesn't have a fix date. It all depends on the Lunar New Year calendar. It last for two weeks. So for two weeks from the date that the lunar calendar states that it is the start of the New Lunar Year, you can go house visiting and collect red packets. The Chinese New Year this year starts on the 1st of February and ends on the 14th February which is also Valentine's day.
My wife, myself , my parents and baby Avery went to visit this square to check out the decor. The residential building at the back is still under construction and I guess, another half a year before completion.

I wonder what baby Avery would feel when she looks back at this post. She is turning three pretty soon. This is a very busy area. If it wasn't for the pandemic, a bazaar would have been set up with various types of food. I do hope the pandemic ends somehow. We all get back to our lives.
This is the iconic sign that you have to take a picture with if you do visit the city.

Opposite of this road are lots of lanterns. I wanted to walk to the other side to take pictures but was kind of lazy. Still recovering from my jet lag when I came back from Kuching last week. After I came back late at night, I had to work till Sunday.
This place is a lot more beautiful at night. Lights in the decoration are lit up .
