The thing I pay attention to most when holding a job in one place is the distance between the workplace. If there is too much distance in between, I usually do not accept it. When buying a house in a place, I make sure that the distance to the workplace is at a minimum distance. I think this should be at most 2 km. longer distance means there is a problem somewhere.
