I didn't stay long in the capital of Slovenia, but already on the journey I felt very comfortable, almost at home. Because the train meandered through a small, green valley, with forest-lined hills and a valley floor with a river, fields and small villages, just like in Switzerland. Then, when I saw the mountains in the background of the city while roaming the surroundings, the feeling of being at home was even greater.
During my three to four days in the city of Ljubliana (Slovenia), I didn't see much of it, but it was enough for some good shots. So I explored the old town on foot, discovered a rather alernative-looking district and drank coffee by the river Ljubljanica.
I was also amazed when I saw these tags several times in the city, because I already knew the lettering of this crew from Zurich (Switzerland).
The castle of Ljubliana has been enthroned on the hill above the town centre for 900 years. It can be reached via a path through the forest with a stylish wooden staircase or a short funicular railway. Today it houses a museum and an event location with a restaurant, and on a tower, which can be climbed via a spiral staircase inside, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the town and the surrounding countryside.
I was also very impressed by my hostel at the time, because it was in an old prison, with the cells converted into sleeping quarters.
Right next to the hostel was an alternative cultural area that had been occupied for over 30 years. Although there was a threat of eviction and closure of the occupied area, I was still able to enjoy some good punk and hardcore concerts.
I took the pictures with my Nikon D5600 and edited them with Snapseed.
