i dived deep
i dived deep into a trend,
without having to pretend,
but i lost that mindset to
feels of needing to be true
to my purpose, not desire.
i dived deep into a fire,
one whose flames were scorching hot.
everyday i knew, i thought
that what feels right in my ears
would evaporate my fears,
but mistaken i was when
i felt different to most men.
when amid these flames, i pondered,
often cried and often wondered
if there’s more to being me.
i resurfaced to be free.
