This is another of the video games I got to play in my work in the area between the mid 70s and mid 90s.

A game of little global impact released in 1996 by Virgin Interactive and developed by Criterion Studios, makers of the famed Burnout game for the Windows and Dos PC platforms.

The game is of the vehicular combat genre and places the player in the character of Alex Gibson, a former fighter pilot who has been given the mission to save the colonists on the planet Dator 5 from savage mutant creatures.

For nineteen missions the players must fight the Voxarians, an alien race who attack the colonists, using a combat vehicle that is a hybrid between a heavy armoured plane and a heavy armoured tank, which can also fly.

There are several continents where the protagonist must rescue and evacuate the colonists, for that he uses a map to locate and land near them and after putting them in the vehicle where only five fit, he transports them through a dimensional door.

There are many tricks and weapons used by the enemies to prevent this, including giant spiders that infect them and turn them into zombies.

In the levels there are additional tasks that must be carried out to complete the level, including repairing chain bridges or deactivating cannons by cutting off their power supply.

Every three levels the player has to fight a boss to continue playing.

The game includes landscapes with prospective 3D textures and real 3D enemies which makes it advanced for the time and allows full immersion in the action.

Special environmental effects are also developed, including waterfalls and volcanoes, the sound is also 3D and multi-directional, and up to 8 players can interact with the game in a network.

It was available in several languages, including Spanish, and later the game was adapted for arcade machines where it was more popular than the original PC version.
