First of all I must confess that when the Game Boy was launched I was one of the first to buy it and also to discard it after a few games, as I was used to other more powerful consoles, and this does not mean that I consider it bad, it was an innovation that we could have the console in our hands but I did not adapt.

However many good games were released exclusively for this platform among them this one:

Pokémon Red & Blue, released in 1996 in Japan and 1998 in North America, was the beginning of the iconic Pokémon franchise.

In these games, trainers assume the role of a young boy who embarks on an adventure to capture, train and battle creatures known as Pokémon.

With an initial selection of three starting Pokémon - Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle - players travel the world, challenging other trainers and collecting all eight gyms to become the Pokémon League champion.

Pokémon Red & Blue were revolutionary at the time, with their "catch 'em all" concept and the ability to trade Pokémon with other players via the Game Boy's cable link.

These games spawned a massive franchise that includes games, TV series, movies, collectible cards and more.
