I took these photos of Lophophora in a plant nursery located in another city.
Some Lophophores grew in the courtyard of the owners of the plant nursery, while others (in pots) belonged to their collection. And, of course, not for sale.
I really like this cactus, but you need to have a lot of patience waiting for it to grow, as it grows very, very slowly!
The natural habitat of Lophophora is the USA and Mexico.
It is advisable to keep Lophophora in diffused daylight. Direct scorching sun rays not only affect the external color, but also slow down the growth of this cactus.
Lophophora can withstand temperatures even above + 40 ° C and it makes me very happy, because in Cyprus in summer the temperature rises even higher.
In winter, it is advisable to keep Lophophora at an air temperature of no higher than + 10 ° C.
With watering you need to be very careful !!!
And it is best to water with a pan.
Lophophora juice, in a small dose, has healing and tonic strength.
But in spite of this, the cultivation of Lophophora is prohibited in many countries of the world, since the use of its juice in large doses causes bright hallucinations in a person, acting like a drug.
