I started this process a couple of weeks ago; now I have four pots. Three of them seem to be doing very well, but the other one—one of the largest—didn't yield the results I wanted after I planted two scallions in it. This photo is from a few days ago; the plant in the middle pot withered, and the scallions failed to grow. The cactus is still alive and doesn't seem to have lost its color, though it does look like it’s leaning a bit to the side, while the small plant is doing fine. Where I’ve seen really good results is with the garlic plant—the third one, in the pot where the cactus used to be. It already has a leaf or stalk about 7–8 cm long, so I gather things are going quite well.
In the middle pot, I decided to plant three more garlic cloves—hoping at least one will grow—along with a couple of black beans; I’m hoping they’ll sprout, even just a little, to help my ecosystem develop better.
I took this photo during the "golden hour"; the light hits the cactus spines just right, giving them a really lovely glow in my opinion. But you can also see that the chive plant is on its way out—it’s not standing tall anymore, but rather heading toward its end :(
We’ll obviously look for ways to better manage the brightness, focus, and definition of the photos, but well, that will come together little by little; for now, the main priority is to keep tending to the plants and to expand so we can have many, many more of them... I hope to be able to show you the progress I’ve made in a couple of weeks!
Have a great weekend—see you next time. Wish you a very happy gardering
