Stenocactus is native to Mexico and grows in its mountainous regions.
Stenocactus differs from other cacti in its slow growth.
Adult Stenocactus rarely grows to 10–15 cm.
It also rarely forms shoots.
Stenocactus needs a shallow pot.
The place for it should be well lit, but shaded from direct daylight.
Stenocactus blooms from April to May.
The flowers are 4 cm in diameter, they are pink, white, greenish-yellow and purple.
It begins to bloom at the age of 3 years.
In winter, the dormant period, it is desirable to keep Stenocactus at a temperature of + 8 to + 10ºС with very rare watering.
