My ducks eggs

Sometimes last month my ducks started laying, i will see their eggs all around the compound because they will just lay, leave it there and walk away. I was even thinking of getting a matured native fowl to be hatching their eggs.

Yesterday i morning i saw the two female ducks lying inside, i went closer and discovered they were actually lying on eggs i was so thrilled. But i still don't know while initially they kept laying everywhere, was it a form of disguise? What ever it was they did that for, i am just happy that very soon my farm will be filled with beautiful little duckies.
