Love is a beautiful thing and it's even more beautiful when two individuals who are in love decide to cement their love by walking down the isle, to do forever.

No matter how fabulous, grande or low key a wedding is, there is always one or two impressions it leaves on the people who witnessed it, it might be good or bad.

I have attended some weddings that left the worse impression on me that I wished I didn't attend. Some too has been a remarkable, beautiful memorable ones, and one of it is what I would be sharing.

This particular wedding is that of my childhood best friend, Chinonye and it was held January this year.
The thing that got me excited and feeling fly about this wedding was because yours truly was the maid of honor. Aside the bride, I was the next center of attraction, lol.

The wedding was scheduled for January 4th at their hometown, Anambra State, both of them are from the same state, and they were doing both the traditional and church wedding the same day.

As the maid of honor, I had to be at my duty post early so I arrived my friend's hometown on the 3rd. The fun of the whole event started from the bridal shower night. We danced, played games and took lots of pictures, of course there was drinks and cakes to go round, crowning it we said a prayer for the bride and groom.

As early as 3am, we were up and preparation for the church wedding started, the time was 9:30am so we needed to leave early enough to be able to beat traffic and get there before time.

The make up artist set about her work and gave the bride a beautiful face beat that perfectly fitted her. Her cinderella gown also gave her the perfect look of a beautiful bride that every lady would wish to be and every man will dreem of having.

Finally we were set and moved to the church, luckily made it before time but the mass started way behind time, one hour later. It wasn't funny at all, I had to maintain my cool because it was my friend's big day. She too was calm, with a cheerful face all through the wait. She knows better than to get angry on her wedding day.

After the long wait the wedding mass started. It was a solemn one. During the homily, the priest enjoined them to hold onto that love which brought them together and not allow anyone come in between them plus other words of advise.

The exchange of marital vows and you may kiss the bride was the high point of the wedding. They did all amidst cheers, awwwnnns and wows from all.
At last, my dear friend got married to her heartthrob . I couldn't contain my joy as I saw her grinning from ear to ear as people were congratulating them. While writing this post, I could picture her beautiful, happy and fulfilled face. It still looks like it was just yesterday.

Church wedding done we headed home to prepare for the traditional wedding, that was where the main party happened, It was party scatter, lol.馃槀
The decoration was top notch giving the reception venue an afri-continental touch. It was a beautiful scenery. The DJ didn't want to dull at all, he was giving us gbedu (music) back to back. It was a case of dance as your strength can carry you and I really danced to my fill, and of course my friend didn't allow anyone steal her day, she scattered the dance floor with her steppings and leg works to the admiration, and cheer of many and of course more spraying of money.

The food, hmmm, the food represented well too, Oh no, okay, the caterer did a good job with the food. So many dishes ranging from Ofe onugbu (Bitterleaf soup), ofe egusi (melon soup), vegetable soup with swallow of choice. Fried rice, cocunut and of course party jellof rice. My favorites, Ukwa (breadfruit) and abacha also came to the party. Infact there were enough food, drinks and chewables - beef, chicken, fish, to go round. Being the ada (first daughter), her family slaughtered a cow as a mark on honor. I was wowed.

There were large turn up of guests who were well entertained, each going home with a priced souvenir.

From the bridal shower, the church wedding and traditional wedding were all well planned and successful. I enjoyed all. It was indeed a memorable event for me, such that will last for long time.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I do hope you enjoyed the post.

This is my response to dreemport@dreemport"s October challenge.
