I was 20 years old when I finally decided that I didn't want to continue living miserably, I was either going to end my miserable life or choose a new one. I chose the latter.

You see, I grew up different from the other kids, not because I wanted to, but because that's how life wanted it. Just the way, we don't get to choose our parents, most of the time, life just throws what it wants at us, no matter what plans, or dreams, or aspirations you have. Yeah, she's a b**ch , I know about it first hand.

It was easier to deal with my difference through my younger years, but adolescence shows no mercy for the weak in mind, you gotta be strong, else you'll get walked over. I was laughed at, mocked, Insulted, humiliated, harassed, you name it, 6 nights, out of 7, I would cry myself to sleep, it was a tragic time for me.

What people said to me during those times, were demeaning, and it messed with my head. But it took a long while and therapy for me to find out that, their opinions were theirs. What mattered was my thoughts and opinions of myself, I was the one with the power to let them in my head. I had the ability to love myself, and to set myself free from the chain of bad beliefs and thoughts that I'd bound myself with over so many years. In that moment, I broke those chains with the power of my mind.

Did you know that, if you love the hell outta yourself, no matter who or what you are, people would automatically buy into that love? That's damn right, It worked for me. People's thoughts of you and opinions of you, might bind you, but what is gonna chain you down, is what you think of yourself, believe about yourself, and you can change that.

Set yourself free! You have the power.
