Hi draw a day team and fellow members, I am joining the Nivukti sled scout drawing contest by @dinglehopper and the drawing below is my official entry
Like it was said in the design tips this is a lightweight sled intended for stealth scouting. No seat no cargo just for moving and gliding in winter freeze. I made something out of wood for the main structure and runners, fur and leather for the platform with lashing
I show you how this was made. The image above shows I was using my sketchbook and pencil to capture the ideas I formed in my imagination guided by the contest design tips. It is a simple wooden sled propelled by the person's feet.
Then when every detail is in place I cleaned it up and finished it with ink to make it look sharp and recognizable.
I enhanced the image by adding more lines to define the wood grains, the fur and leather texture as well as the basic upturned shape of the runners
I carefully select the colors I will use for the base. These are the most subtle color I chose to avoid bleeding and overwhelming my canvas with too much color saturation. A simple look actually used five or more color pens.
It is a challenging and fun experience to finish an entry for this contest. Hope you like it . Thank you @dinglehopper for this contest I hope you find the perfect inspiration for your project. I encourage you guys to take part just go to Drawaday community to learn more about the contest.
