Hey there!
Each time when I get back to Riga, my mom is already waiting with Ballet or Opera tickets in her pocket. This time it was all Latvian ballet - Latvian story and Latvian composer - called Antonija, adapted from a very famous Latvian play "Skroderdienas Silmačos"!
We were lucky enough to go to the World priemiere, as proudly advertised on the posters, and I guess for this reason tickets sold off super fast so we ended up not with the best spots. Oh right, also for this reason ( I assume) even Latvian president came to see it (fancy, huh?).
In theory, it is not allowed to film the play but I did try to film some snippets.
What I usually also enjoy when going to these events is to see the reacation of the crowd at the end. Applause is always there but you can always feel if it's sincere or not, and this time it was, oh my, so sincere. We enjoyed every moment of this fantastic creativity!
I thought I post this tiny video to give you a feel of what it feels like to going to such events in Latvia. For Latvians it is a big deal and culture is very close to our hearts. I hope you like it!
