I didn't really have a main strategy in this fight. The ruleset didn't really force me to think of something special other than using healers is not a good idea. So I just tried to find a team with abilities that complement each other and that is hopefully strong enough to beat my opponent.
Great tank - high damage, armor and health and as a little extra the Thorns ability.
Always great to have in the second position when the fire splinter and a potential Yodin opponent is available. The Reflection shield is the perfect counter for Blast damage.
The Protect ability gives every Monster in my line up 2 extra Armor. This can be very powerful if there is a bunch of ranged and melee attackers in the opponent team.
The third Reward card and a pretty awesome one as well. Double strike is really great against monsters with little Armor or Divine Shield.
Usually use her in a Noxious Fumes ruleset because of the Cleanse ability but in combination with Djinn Chwala the Amplify ability comes in handy here.
Always nice to have in the team when you run out of mana. Guarantees a Sneak protection for two strikes because even though it has very low health it comes with 1 armor.
Not great to see the Tide Biter in the opponents team, my Thorns + Amplify combination will just be ignored. The Coral Wraith isn't a Monster I see very often but even though it does take out Hardy Stonefish in 1 hit, that doesn't matter because it solved its purpose by taking two sneak attacks.
Diemonshark goes down pretty fast in this round. This time the Thorns + Amplify did the trick. The extra 1 Thorns-damage brought it down to 2 HP giving my Tide Biter the opportunity to take it out.
5 vs 4 in this round and I have the advantage in pretty much all aspects (damage, hitpoints, speed, armor) and that is why my team is able to take down two more opponent monsters.
4 vs 2 now, but because of my speed advantage the opponent doesn't even get to attack before this match is over.
My "tactic" worked out nicely. The Thorns + Amplify didn't do as much damage as I hoped, but it helped taking out the Diemonshark which can be a very scary opponent with its enrage and trample. When the Diemonshark went down early in the second round the match was pretty much decided in my favour.
Like I stated before I use the River Nymph usually in a Noxious Fumes ruleset and really like her there for the Cleanse ability. This is one of the few fights I tried combining her with Djinn Chwala. If I ever reach Diamond level and get her to max level she might find herself more often in my line up because the swiftness ability seems great, especially considering the bad luck I usually have on missing/dodging 😜
