Hello to all the amazing @Holozing community! I'm Lorentm, a passionate digital artist, and I'm excited to share with you a new artwork that is part of the Zingtober initiative. This event is a special adaptation of Inktober for the community, where each day we were inspired by a different word to create a black and white drawing based on Holozing characters.
The word of the day was "backpack" and I was inspired to create a fan art of one of my favorite characters: the Forest Healer. For this illustration, I wanted to capture her kind and magical essence, but also give it a more adventurous and practical feel. Instead of the vibrant tones I usually use, I opted for a monochromatic palette, exploring how details and shadows can tell their own story. The Healer appears with her signature ponytail, adorned with a delicate flower, connecting with her naturalistic spirit. But the undisputed protagonist of this piece is her backpack.
This backpack, with carefully detailed pockets and straps, is not just an accessory; it is a symbol of her journey as a protector of the forest. I decided to include a four-leaf clover design on the backpack, a nod to both luck and her deep bond with nature. The background suggests an outdoor setting, with subtle vertical lines creating the feeling of being surrounded by tall trees or in an enchanted garden. The foliage at the bottom complements the scene, reinforcing the Healer's connection to her surroundings.
I loved exploring this monochromatic style, which allowed me to play with contrasts and shadows in a different way than my previous work. Each black and white stroke has its own weight and meaning, bringing this illustration to life in a unique way. I hope this work conveys the same emotion I felt when I created it, and that you enjoy this more minimalist and enigmatic version of the Healer of the Forest as much as I did.

隆Hola a toda la incre铆ble comunidad de @Holozing! Soy Lorentm, una apasionada artista digital, y estoy emocionada de compartir con ustedes una nueva obra que forma parte de la iniciativa Zingtober. Este evento es una adaptaci贸n especial de Inktober para la comunidad, donde cada d铆a nos inspiramos en una palabra diferente para crear un dibujo en blanco y negro basado en los personajes de Holozing.
La palabra del d铆a fue "backpack" y me inspir茅 para crear un fan art de uno de mis personajes favoritos: la Sanadora del Bosque. Para esta ilustraci贸n, quise capturar su esencia bondadosa y m谩gica, pero tambi茅n darle un toque m谩s aventurero y pr谩ctico. En lugar de los tonos vibrantes que suelo utilizar, opt茅 por una paleta monocrom谩tica, explorando c贸mo los detalles y las sombras pueden contar su propia historia. La Sanadora aparece con su caracter铆stica coleta, adornada con una flor delicada, conectando con su esp铆ritu naturalista. Pero el protagonista indiscutible de esta pieza es su mochila.
Esta mochila, con bolsillos y correas cuidadosamente detalladas, no es solo un accesorio; es un s铆mbolo de su viaje como protectora del bosque. Decid铆 incluir un dise帽o de tr茅bol de cuatro hojas en la mochila, un gui帽o tanto a la suerte como a su profundo lazo con la naturaleza. El fondo sugiere un ambiente al aire libre, con l铆neas verticales sutiles que crean la sensaci贸n de estar rodeada por altos 谩rboles o en un jard铆n encantado. El follaje en la parte inferior complementa la escena, reforzando la conexi贸n de la Sanadora con su entorno.
Me encant贸 explorar este estilo monocrom谩tico, que me permiti贸 jugar con contrastes y sombras de una manera diferente a mis trabajos anteriores. Cada trazo en blanco y negro tiene su propio peso y significado, d谩ndole vida a esta ilustraci贸n de una manera 煤nica. Espero que esta obra les transmita la misma emoci贸n que sent铆 al crearla, y que disfruten tanto como yo de esta versi贸n m谩s minimalista y enigm谩tica de la Sanadora del Bosque.

In the heart of the Holozing Forest, where nature and magic intertwine, lives the Forest Healer, known as Liora. From a young age, Liora showed a special connection to the flora and fauna of the forest, able to understand the rustling of trees and the singing of birds. Her backpack, always at her side, is filled with healing herbs, magic potions and small talismans she has collected throughout her adventures. The four-leaf clover in her backpack symbolizes not only luck, but also her oath to protect and heal all forest beings. On rainy days, Liora goes even deeper into the forest, following the streams of water that reveal new secrets and medicinal plants. Her mission is to maintain balance and harmony in Holozing, using her ancestral knowledge and kind heart to heal any wound, be it an injured animal or a sick tree. The inhabitants of the forest consider her a guardian and friend, always ready to help with a smile and a kind word.
En el coraz贸n del Bosque de Holozing, donde la naturaleza y la magia se entrelazan, vive la Sanadora del Bosque, conocida como Liora. Desde peque帽a, Liora mostr贸 una conexi贸n especial con la flora y la fauna del bosque, capaz de entender el susurro de los 谩rboles y el canto de los p谩jaros. Su mochila, siempre a su lado, est谩 llena de hierbas curativas, pociones m谩gicas y peque帽os talismanes que ha recolectado a lo largo de sus aventuras. El tr茅bol de cuatro hojas en su mochila no solo simboliza la suerte, sino tambi茅n su juramento de proteger y sanar a todos los seres del bosque. En d铆as de lluvia, Liora se adentra a煤n m谩s en el bosque, siguiendo las corrientes de agua que le revelan nuevos secretos y plantas medicinales. Su misi贸n es mantener el equilibrio y la armon铆a en Holozing, utilizando su conocimiento ancestral y su coraz贸n bondadoso para curar cualquier herida, ya sea de un animal herido o de un 谩rbol enfermo. Los habitantes del bosque la consideran una guardiana y amiga, siempre dispuesta a ayudar con una sonrisa y una palabra amable.
The process of creating this digital drawing began with what is always my favorite part: the sketch. This is where I give the first loose strokes, allowing the ideas to flow and visualizing the Forest Healer's pose. Being a fan art inspired by the word "backpack", I wanted to make sure her backpack was a central element in the composition, so I focused on the balance between the character and her environment, drawing quick, flowing lines that I would later adjust.
Once I had the sketch defined, it was time to work on the outline. This step is key to refine every detail, and in this case, I wanted the contours of the backpack to be especially sharp to highlight its presence. I used clean, precise strokes, taking care with each line to reflect both the softness of the Healer's features and the more robust texture of her backpack. This contrast helped to add depth to the illustration.
With the outlining completed, I moved on to the coloring part, or in this case, the rendering in black, white and shades of gray. Although I normally work with a wide range of colors, this time the challenge was to convey emotions and volumes only with grayscales. The Healer and her backpack gradually came to life as I applied different shades of gray, making sure that each area had its own identity, from the soft glow of her flower-adorned ponytail to the harder, more functional texture of the backpack.
Then, it was time to apply shadows. This is where the magic really starts to emerge, because the shadows help give the character three-dimensionality. I focused on the folds of the clothing, the straps of the backpack and the details of the environment, using soft shadows for the natural elements such as the foliage, while the areas of the backpack required deeper, more pronounced shading. This allowed the elements to stand out from each other, adding an interesting contrast.
Finally, the shimmers were the subtle touch that brought the illustration to life. Although the work was done in black and white, the glitters add that sparkle that makes the image feel more dynamic. I added delicate reflections on the backpack and on the Healer's hair to create a slight light effect that suggests a natural source, like the sun filtering through the trees. These small details are what give the final piece a more polished and enveloping finish.
The result is a work in which the contrasts between light and shadow allow each element to stand out in its own way, creating a scene that captures both the adventurous spirit and the serenity of the Healer of the Forest.
El proceso de creaci贸n de este dibujo digital comenz贸 con lo que siempre es mi parte favorita: el boceto. Aqu铆 es donde doy los primeros trazos sueltos, permitiendo que las ideas fluyan y visualizando la postura de la Sanadora del Bosque. Al ser un fan art inspirado en la palabra "backpack", quise asegurarme de que su mochila fuera un elemento central en la composici贸n, as铆 que me enfoqu茅 en el equilibrio entre el personaje y su entorno, dibujando l铆neas r谩pidas y fluidas que luego ajustar铆a.
Una vez que tuve el boceto definido, lleg贸 el momento de trabajar en el delineado. Este paso es clave para afinar cada detalle, y en este caso, quise que los contornos de la mochila fueran especialmente n铆tidos para resaltar su presencia. Utilic茅 trazos limpios y precisos, cuidando cada l铆nea para que reflejara tanto la suavidad de los rasgos de la Sanadora como la textura m谩s robusta de su mochila. Este contraste ayud贸 a darle mayor profundidad a la ilustraci贸n.
Con el delineado finalizado, pas茅 a la parte del coloreado, o en este caso, a la interpretaci贸n en blanco, negro y tonos grises. Aunque normalmente trabajo con una amplia gama de colores, esta vez el reto fue transmitir emociones y vol煤menes solo con escalas de grises. La Sanadora y su mochila fueron llen谩ndose de vida poco a poco mientras aplicaba diferentes tonos de gris, asegur谩ndome de que cada 谩rea tuviera su propia identidad, desde el suave brillo de su coleta adornada con una flor, hasta la textura m谩s dura y funcional de la mochila.
Luego, lleg贸 el momento de aplicar sombras. Aqu铆 es donde la magia realmente comienza a surgir, porque las sombras ayudan a darle tridimensionalidad al personaje. Me enfoqu茅 en los pliegues de la ropa, las correas de la mochila y los detalles del entorno, utilizando sombras suaves para los elementos naturales como el follaje, mientras que las zonas de la mochila requer铆an un sombreado m谩s profundo y marcado. Esto permiti贸 que los elementos se destacaran unos de otros, agregando un contraste interesante.
Finalmente, los brillos fueron el toque sutil que le dio vida a la ilustraci贸n. Aunque el trabajo se realiz贸 en blanco y negro, los brillos agregan esa chispa que hace que la imagen se sienta m谩s din谩mica. A帽ad铆 reflejos delicados en la mochila y en el cabello de la Sanadora para crear un ligero efecto de luz que sugiera una fuente natural, como el sol filtr谩ndose entre los 谩rboles. Esos peque帽os detalles son los que logran que la pieza final tenga un acabado m谩s pulido y envolvente.
El resultado es una obra en la que los contrastes entre luz y sombra permiten que cada elemento resalte a su manera, creando una escena que captura tanto el esp铆ritu aventurero como la serenidad de la Sanadora del Bosque.
