Wednesday Walk;
It's night here in Australia, and for business I am staying overnight in Newcastle, which is 2 hours north of Sydney. From my hotel room, I noticed this odd water way:
So of course, it was a no brainer. I was off to explore; and was stopped by this beautiful tree, carved with names. Just beyond it, you can see the waterway I'm getting closer to:
This was my first perspective of the waterway; blocked by a tree, but I took a snap and a few extra steps:
And then it opened up, and you can see my hotel in the background - the one with the big red sign.
In the end, I was a bit disappointed, hoping to come across a beautiful urban waterway, I think I found a dirty gutter, and if not for some significant rain, I think this would largely have been dry. The highlight, beyond the fresh air, was that beautiful tree!
This has been my first #wednesdaywalk - I love the concept and glad to have stumbled upon the idea. I look forward to sharing my adventures when I'm back home.
