Splinterlands is regularly patching new updates into the game and these updates improve the gaming experience of players. Some time ago, a new update was inserted into the game to improve the filter and search options of the "Cards" section which can be accessed through the "Items" menu as shown in the image below.
We'll look into those new features and improvements made in the 'Cards' section, and you'll be amazed when you use them to find specific cards. So, let's dive into the updated cards section for more information.
Attack Type Filter
Previously, this filter was relatively hard to apply, but now this filter is super simple. You just need to click any or all icons to view the cards of that attack type.
For example, we select the Magic icon and all magic monster cards will show up on the left panel, look at the image given below.
Suppose, we have selected Magic and Melee icons, now we see a mix of both Magic and Melee cards in the left panel.
Now, you see how simple is to look into a specific card type with just 1 click, give it a try yourself.
Elements Filter
The new filter section now comes with an Element tab which includes all 7 elements. This feature will show you the desired element cards when you click on an element icon or you may click multiple choices to expand your search.
Now, we click on the Dragon element icon, and we can see all available Dragon cards in the cards panel.
How easy is it to view cards from each faction, we can select more element icons, but I leave it for you to try out.
Rarity Filter
Compared to the previous rarity filter that was on top of the card panel, it looked quite messy with just colored circles. Now, each rarity has a new symbol and text, we just need to click on any or multiple rarity symbols to reveal our desired result.
We try with legendary and here we see all playable legendary cards in the cards panel.
You can even use a combination of other available filters to narrow down your results by selecting icons from Element or Attack Type Filters. How cool it is and easy as well.
Ability Search
This is the most interesting feature so far added to the Cards section, with this amazing tool you can search cards by their abilities.
Use the search box to enter any ability keyword that you like to view the cards of that particular ability. Here, we enter 'Blast' as a keyword in the search box and we'll see all playable cards with Blast ability.
But, there is more to explore in ability search, you can add as many keywords as the available abilities.
Every time you enter an ability it will show up below the search box and this way you can enter multiple keywords. You can remove any added search term by clicking on the 'x' cross icon.
Foil and Role Filters
Foil and Role filters are completely revamped and now they have unique identifier icons. Just click any or all icons to view desired cards.
For example, if we select Gold and Summoners icons, we'll see all gold foil summoner cards we have available to use.
You can select 1 or multiple icons to view your desired results, just toy around with this feature to see how useful it is.
Card Set Filter
This filter is greatly enhanced to view all the details pertaining to card editions and sub-editions. When we drop down any card set, as we want to unlock additional options of the filter, we click on the small arrow to reveal them.
Here, we can see all card sets filter of Chaos Legion edition, Core is the main edition cards that come into packs, Promo cards are released as special edition cards, Reward cards are cards players win fighting ranked battles and opening daily or season chests, and Riftwatchers is a sub-edition of Chaos Legion.
Suppose, we need to look for Promo card sets, so we'll click on Promo under that main edition, and we'll see all the available promo cards we have so far in the game.
Now, we have revealed all the promo cards we have in our items. Similarly, when we click on the Riftwatchers icon or any other filter in the section, we can see cards pertaining to that set. You can select multiple filters to expand your search.
Format Filter
Format filter is used to see cards that are used in ranked battle formats, there are two battle formats Wild and Modern. In Wild format, players can use all editions of cards without any restrictions, while Modern format only allows Chaos Legion, Untamed, Gladius, all new promo, reward, and sub-edition cards.
Just select one of the format icons and reveal all playable cards for that edition.
In the above image, you see that we clicked on the Modern icon and all cards that could be played in that format became visible.
Reset Filters
Reset button clears all the selected filters to default mode, which means you will see all regular foil cards usable for Modern format.
Card Search Box
This is the most awaited and demanded feature that was only available on the PeakMonsters.com website. Now you can search for any card in your collection or the marketplace without going through scrolling down to the bottom to see your required card.
Let's search for 'Corsair Bosun', enter the first few letters and you'll see the complete name appear in the drop list, click or enter the name, and your searched card will show up in the cards panel.
Finding any card in the game is now super easy, this feature has added convenience to find a specific card.
Other Features
There are some old filters still available in the improved Items section, these filters are important to further enhance the search results such as ascending or descending rarities, view cards based on high and low Mana Cost, and many other filters that you can find in the drop-down menu.
You can now view any player's card by entering his/her name in the player search box, you can see all his cards like you see yours.
The total number of cards will appear depending on the selected filters, but if you want to see the total number of cards, then you need to select Wild format and Gold and Regular filters altogether.
Oh! don't worry about the Power, card power is a thing of the past. 😆
Note
Each Filter is represented with a number of available selectable filters, when you click 2 filters the filter number will be updated from 0/4 to 2/4.
Filters in Market: Same filters are available in the Splinterlands Market, so anyone who likes to buy or rent a card may find desired cards with less effort and save time.
