Speak and let your word fall on deaf ears

The voice of a snake is not worth a cent in the market of words

I see you for what you are you cannot hide

Your words are coated in deceit and lies

You’ve lied to me ever since I was a child

Whispering words I took as law and gold

Turning me against my own folk

A young man striving to please the fold

My naivety to you was sold

But I awoke from my slumber

With rage and regret for my youthful blindness

Now I know you played me for a fool

The blind puppet you used your words to rule

Now my eyes are open to see the truth

Better late than never to give you the boot
