I just want to make clear that Im not saying that this will happen, for sure, or any time soon, as I am not a drooling brainlet with 5 day old pizza stains on my undershirt and a folder on my desktop full of conspiracy theory screenshots or a degen with a portfolio consisting almost entirely of dog and sex related coins. 馃槀
@acidyo brought this up in his tweet here yesterday and it made me think a bit.

What would it actually mean in the grand scheme of things? Would it mean anything?
When people talk about coins going 100x they focus on 1 thing. Having more money then they did before. The project goes parabolic and its effect on its surroundings remains basically 0.
Those who benefit can only ever be those that bought prior to the growth.
Almost none of these projects have an opt in option, from which you can benefit at any time, without you actually having to purchase a large amount of coins and hope for price increase.
They put 0 value on the individual and assume individuals can provide nothing of value that should be incentivized by the chain.
Quite a different thing here on HIVE. You have value and sometimes your value far exceeds the size of your portfolio. Your wallet address, a name instead of a long series of numbers and letters humanizes your participation in this financial experiment called crypto.
That option to enter an ecosystem easily (pls devs fix the shitty onboarding process) and instantly benefit from it puts the idea of a 100x Hive on completely different level than basically anything else.
Bitcoin you can use at 5k or 70k the same way, it makes no difference, well, it becomes slower if anything. At 70k you just buy less of it.
- With Hive at 100x, you increase the reward pool to tens of millions of dollars.
- You increase competition in all incentivized parts of Hive and attract new people.
- You widen token distribution.
- Hive dapps become competitive on the grand scale of things. Twitter at 500 million users pays 5 million USD to 0.000...1% of its users and about $8 per 1 million views. I get $8 now for 50 views. A difference of 20 000x. With a reward pool 100 times the value, on the top end you start to attract big creators while the small creators are certain.
- Basically all charitable organizations would move from offering tax breaks to rich people to directly interacting with the community on Hive. PETA would post so many pictures of dead animals and people wrapped like steak on the street and get rewarded for it.
- A 100x Hive would boost economic growth in developing countries by providing a new income stream. With 20 million USD going to authors every month, with only a part of that going to developing countries you could basically double the average monthly salary for more than 50 000 people. This would increase consumer spending, small business growth, and potential investments in their local communities. That could potentially lead back to Hive.
- Can you say "circular economies"?
- All this would lead traditional social media giants to explore blockchain and tokenization features to retain users and content creators. Maybe themselves build on Hive leading to a much fairer distribution of wealth from corporations to users.
- At a 100x Hive becomes the basis for the "everything app" by making sure the underlying prerequisites of user ownership and user control of finances are in the hands of the people and not guys like Elon or the CCP.
- At Bitcoins marketcap though... id say Hive probably discovers aliens. 馃槀
