Kind of reminds me of my childhood. I once threw a screwdriver type thing at my sister, thinking it was funny.
I was playing on the roof with tools alone in the afternoon. It was hot, 45'C. She came, worrying for me that I would get ill because of the heat.
Maybe it irritated me, or I thought it would be funny to throw it, don't know. But I threw the screw driver at her, and it got stuck in the back of her head, inside the skull.
Everything good that happened in my life, it's because of her. She supported me financially and emotionally.
Does a lot for me and our family, that my parents could never do.
Literally helped me to get on my foot, to start my first business, to buy my first laptop, and countless other things.
The thought that I could have killed her, or she might have a serious brain injury, always makes me too uneasy. Like I want to smash my head in the wall for being such a stupid kid.
Kids should stay away from tools. A few years ago, one of my cousins daugther lost one of her eyes because she was playing with mobile charger, and accidently smashed it into her eye socket.
I was maybe 7 at that time. Dad was always away at work. Mom was always busy handling four kids and a lot of household work. But still. They should not have let me play with those tools.
The memory still haunts me to this day. And whenever my sister mentions that incident in a funny way, that how mischiveous I was, I feel so ashamed.
Incidents like these were common those days. Things like these happened with so many people. Friends, cousins, neighbours.
These days, if a kid scratches his knee, it's a big issue.
Two decades back, if a kid got seriously injured, it was something common. People would brush it off, saying kids always gets injured playing.
For my sister, cousins, it was a small thing. For me, it haunts me, and the worst memory of my childhood.
Never shared this incident with anyone outside my family. Don't know what people will think about it๐
