Devonian Harbour Park
The park is located at the north foot of Denman Street and serves as a gateway to Stanley Park in Vancouver. The site was once home to the worlds largest indoor ice rink. It was known as the Four Seasons Property and was slated for high-rise development. Thanks to public uproar and an extended "occupation" by protesting hippies, the money was raised to purchase the property and the Devonian Harbour Park came into existence.
It consists of 4.42 hectares of mostly grassy picnic area. There are sculptures and a duck pond, all in all just a lovely place to sit and gather your thoughts amidst the hustle and bustle of city life.
