Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! It's already the middle of February and as the days pass we are nearing the release of the new set, Conclave Arcana. This also means that the old reliable Chaos Legion set will move to Wild League ushering in a new meta in the Modern League. Already, I'm reducing my reliance on my Chaos Legion cards and using the new Rebellion cards more in my battles.
The following battle features some of the new Rebellion reward cards that has replaced the Chaos Legion cards that I often used.
Rulesets: Explosive Weaponry, Reverse Speed and Silenced Summoners
Available Splinters: Fire, Earth and Dragon
Max Mana: 37
For the mana available, I usually pick the Earth team and I anticipated that my opponent will do the same. I was mindful of the Explosive Weaponry ruleset and already had a card in mind to take advantage of this ruleset.
| Quillion Legionary | Thunderhoof Nomad |
|---|---|
The Quillion Legionary is a great tank. He can repel magic and melee attacks with his Void and Thorns abilities. He replaced the usual tank I use in the Earth Splinter, the Pelacor Mercenary.
The Thunderhoof Nomad is a key card in this battle and the one I had in mind against Explosive Weaponry Ruleset. She has the Reflection Shield ability making her immune to Blast damage. At level four, she also has the Strengthen ability to buff the team.
An old reliable in the Chaos Legion set that has three magic damage.
The Blackmoor Wild Elf replaces the Regal Peryton. She is also a five mana card and deals two magic damage. She also complements the Quillion Legionary with her Amplify ability buffing the Thorns damage of Quillion.
The Chaos Adjutant is another new card that has found a place in my team after I upgraded her to level five. She deals two magic damage and has the Snare ability making her a good card to use in Earthquake rulesets.
The Goblin Psychic is a regular in my magic team because of his Heal ability. There is no card yet to replace him in his role in the Earth team. Maybe in the next set there will be a healer that can take on the role.
My opponent's team is composed of the old set. His tank is the Terraceous Hulk who is great against magic attackers because of his Void Armor ability. He is also well suited in this battle because of the Reverse Speed ruleset.
