Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!

One of the fun things about Splinterlands is we get to guess which cards the enemy will play. We can then adjust our strategies to counter theirs. It's not just a simple card game but a battle of wits. Take for example the following battle that I lost.

In this battle of two Water magic teams, my enemy had the advantage because of his Thanalorian Scion card.

It's a great tank against magic units because of its high armor stat and Void Armor ability. It takes time to damage the ten armor stats all the while his team is doing damage to mine. On the other hand, it costs $3 a copy, more expensive than some legendary cards in the market. Anyway, I lost the battle because of this card.

In the next battle, I was against the same enemy. I anticipated that he will use Thanalorian Scion again so I adjusted my strategy. Instead of facing his tank head on, I used units with Sneak ability to take him out from the back.

The units I used with Sneak ability were Kervik, Bren Palesworn and Saltwater Mage. The three units worked together to harass the enemy's rear units. Hence, instead of attacking the front, my attacks were concentrated on the back, the enemy's damage dealers. I avoided attacking his tank and took out his high damage units first. The shift in strategy was the key to victory.

Final Thoughts

The above battles show why Splinterlands is a fun game to play. It's not just about the strength of individual cards, you have to create a winning strategy to take the victory. It's not just a battle of who has the better cards, but how to use them. You can guess which cards your enemy is going to play and build your team to counter it.
